Tour Recap:
So as you’ll come to find out, I play guitar in the San Diego rock band Flight To Athena.  Recently we did our first national tour over a 3 week period.  In short, it was one of the most amazing experiences of my life.  However, we faced every challenge one could imagine while on tour.  We had a transmission blow out on us in Utah that left us stranded for four days having to cancel shows.  We ran over a full bottle of oil that had been dropped on the highway and thought our van had caught on fire.  We had the side wheel cover on our trailer rip off on the highway as well as pull into town and realize our show had been canceled without being informed of this and having to scramble to find another venue to play at.  However, amid all of these challenges we continued to push forward.  Overall the tour was a great success, we met so many cool people and played some great shows.  We learned so much about touring that will help us in the future and learned how to turn potentially disastrous events into opportunities to make the best out of a trip around the country.  We’ll be heading back out on the road for a two week west coast tour in late August and back at it on a national tour in late September/early October.
